About Epworth

What's in a book?

Epworth's book discussion group meets monthly throughout the year, usually on the second Sunday at 9 a.m. in Room 8. (Please note, however, that the discussions in April and May are on the third Sunday.) The group reads a different book each month, then has an hour's worth of conversation about it during the group meeting time.

If you like books and spirited discussions, this is the group for you. Anyone can join in at any time during the year.

Mar 11: Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen by Susan Gregg Gilmore. Catherine Grace Cline learns that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

Apr 15: Girl in Translation by Jan Kwok. Kimberly Chang and her mother emigrate from Hong Kong to New York. The young Chinese girl perseveres in a tale of hardship and triumph while straddling two different cultures.

May 20: The Color of Water by James McBride. A true story of a black man's tribute to his white mother. The love she gave to her 12 black children transcended race.
